Former EFF MP Busisiwe Mkhwebane Joins MK Party Leadership, Teams Up with KZN’s Willies Mchunu

In a significant political shift, former Public Protector Advocate Busisiwe Mkhwebane has been appointed as the MK Party’s provincial convener in Mpumalanga.

Alongside her, former KwaZulu-Natal Premier and ANC veteran Willies Mchunu has taken up the role of provincial leader for KZN.

The MK Party introduced both new members during a media briefing held in Johannesburg.

Mkhwebane recently resigned from the EFF and Parliament, citing a desire to spend more time with her family. Her husband, David Skosana, currently represents MKP in Parliament.

With the 2026 local government elections approaching, the MK Party continues to gain momentum, drawing in notable political figures, including former EFF deputy president Floyd Shivambu.

Recent mergers from political entities, such as Black First Land First, South African Rainbow Alliance, and Xiluva Party, indicate growing support for MKP nationwide.
