Dr. Nasiphi Moya, an ActionSA councillor, has officially been elected as the new mayor of Tshwane, securing a decisive victory against DA’s Cilliers Brink.
Moya garnered 122 votes, while Brink received 86, with no spoiled ballots.
This election concludes a period of political uncertainty for the capital city, which had been without a mayor since the removal of Brink through a motion of no confidence last month.
Moya’s election signals a new era for Tshwane as she steps into one of the city’s most influential positions.
