Gospel Singer Winnie Mashaba Faces Backlash for “Showboating” After Solly Moholo’s Death

Dr Winnie Mashaba critisized by fans after she arrived at Solly Moholos

Gospel singer Winnie Mashaba is under fire on social media for what many are calling “showboating.”

The criticism erupted after she allegedly arrived at Wonderboom Airport in Pretoria in a private jet to pay her respects to the family of the late Solly Moholo.

An anonymous music executive voiced disappointment, stating, “Winnie failed to visit Solly in the hospital. She should have used that plane to go to Rustenburg to see him instead of using it for showboating and exposure.”

Social media users echoed this sentiment, with one commenting, “These people love each other only on social media, but in real life, they act differently when you are dead because you mean nothing to them.”

Another user questioned, “Why didn’t she help with Solly’s hospital bill?”

Critics pointed out the contradiction between Mashaba’s public claims of being close to Moholo and her actions following his death.

“This woman always said Solly Moholo was her brother and mentor, but her actions now expose the opposite of her claims. It’s sad. The issue isn’t the aircraft; it’s her timing to show attention to Solly when he is no more,” another user added.

Meanwhile, members of the Limpopo Artists Movement have been actively collecting donations to cover Moholo’s hospital bills and visited his family last week. Efforts by TshisaLIVE to reach Mashaba for comment were unsuccessful.
