Scammers Demand Money To Release Gqeberha Star Rorisang Mohapi’s Account

Rorisang Mohapi's TikTok Account Hacked, Scammers Demand R8K

Rorisang Mohapi, star of Gqeberha the Empire, has fallen victim to a scam after her TikTok account, with over 350,000 followers and around five million likes, was hacked.

The actress shared her frustration, revealing that it took her five years to build the account, which she used to promote her brand, entertain fans, and connect with her audience.

Three weeks ago, Rorisang’s TikTok account was stolen by scammers who tricked her into sharing her login details.

She explained how she was duped by fake administrators who claimed to be from TikTok, offering to verify her account due to its rapid growth.

Since she was already verified on Instagram, she believed the request was legitimate.

Unfortunately, after handing over her username and password, she was locked out of her account. The scammers then contacted her via WhatsApp, demanding R8,000 in exchange for returning the account. Despite their threats, Rorisang refused to pay the ransom.

While she wants her TikTok account back, Rorisang has chosen not to open a case, feeling it may be a pointless effort. Fans of the actress, who plays the manipulative Lulama on Gqeberha the Empire, are rallying behind her as she deals with the distressing situation.
