Mpho Wa Badimo goes bald in honour of her late mother
South African socialite and ex-BBMzansi winner Mpho Wa Badimo has opened up about her grief following the death of her mother.
Mpho recently shared photos of herself with a shaved head, explaining that she went bald to honor her mom.
On social media, Mpho expressed how deeply grief has affected her, saying, “Grief changes you forever. You don’t just grieve your loved one; you grieve the person you were before the loss.”

She described the painful transition and how she has slowly learned to live with the pain while embracing grief as part of her journey.

Mpho also shared that her grief has evolved from a dark place to one of healing, where she has found her strength and light again.
“I’ve learned that grief is just love with no place to go, and the best thing you can do is go through it.”

Speaking on her decision to shave her head, she explained, “Our hair is our crown, and removing it isn’t a sign of weakness. It’s a sign of respect, honor, and reclaiming strength.”
Mpho shared how cutting her hair has helped her release past trauma and welcome healing in both her spirit and body.
In a powerful message, Mpho concluded, “I cried tears that could fill an ocean, but rain makes flowers grow. You either choose to stay down or rise like the phoenix that you are.”
