NASA’s Confirmation: According to NASA, on September 29, 2024, Earth temporarily captured a small asteroid named 2024 PT5, which is often referred to as a “mini-moon.”

This capture is a brief gravitational event, with the asteroid following a path similar to Earth. Carlos de la Fuente Marcos, an expert on mini-moons, stated that this object will not establish a permanent orbit around our planet and will be gone by November 25, 2024.
