Successful Foot Patrols in Mthatha Lead to Quick Arrest of Robbery Suspects

In Mthatha, the introduction of civilian-clothed police foot patrols has proven effective, resulting in the swift arrest of two robbery suspects following a clothing store heist on September 21, 2024.

A police sergeant on patrol witnessed the robbery and quickly called for backup, leading to a rapid response from SAPS and KSD Law Enforcement.

The suspects, aged 30 and 36, were apprehended nearby, and police confiscated a licensed and an unlicensed firearm, along with stolen cash and shoes.

They will face charges of business robbery and firearm violations in court on September 23, 2024. OR Tambo District Commissioner Major General Phumzile Cetyana praised the teamwork displayed by the law enforcement agencies involved.
