Gugu Gumede Sets the Record Straight on Marriage Rumors with Jacob Zuma

Mzansi was left in shock when a video surfaced of actress Gugu Gumede claiming she was getting married next month.

The Facebook Reels video showed a heartbroken Gugu mourning her late mother, with a caption that read, “Next month is my wedding, and you’re no more,” accompanied by the sound of a crying baby.

The video also featured a photo of Gugu posing with former president Jacob Zuma, sparking rumors that she might be marrying him.

However, Gugu quickly set the record straight, revealing that someone had used her identity on a fake Facebook account.

Gugu stated that she was unaware of the video and explained that numerous social media accounts use her name without her consent.

She expressed frustration over the damage caused by these fake accounts, which have misled many people.

Gugu emphasized that she only uses social media to share her professional work and weight loss journey, not personal matters like marriage.

She advised her followers to be cautious and to distinguish between real and fake accounts.

Gugu’s mother passed away in September 2022 at the age of 59, after suffering a stroke that left her in a wheelchair.

Gugu is not alone in facing cybercrime; other celebrities like DJ Tira, Nothando Ngcobo, and Zodwa Wabantu have also been victims of similar online scams.
