EFF leader Julius Malema has stepped in to assist controversial rapper Lehlogonolo Katlego Chauke, known as Shebeshxt, by covering his medical bills following a tragic car accident.
The accident, which occurred on the R37 Road next to the Smelters Mine in Limpopo on Saturday night, claimed the life of Shebeshxt’s nine-year-old daughter.
According to Tidimalo Chuene, spokesperson for the transport department in Limpopo, the accident was reported just after 10pm. Shebeshxt was treated for serious injuries on the scene before being transported to Polokwane Provincial Hospital. However, sources revealed that he was left unattended for hours due to lack of medical aid.
Malema intervened, ensuring Shebeshxt was transferred to Netcare Pholoso Hospital, a private healthcare facility in Polokwane, where he is now receiving the necessary medical care.
The medical bills for his treatment are reportedly running into hundreds of thousands of rands.

Videos circulating on social media show the aftermath of the accident, including the covered body of Shebeshxt’s daughter next to the damaged Volkswagen Polo and the rapper receiving treatment on the ground. This marks the second serious car accident involving Shebeshxt this year, following a previous incident in January where he escaped unscathed from a crash that totaled his new Golf GTI.
