Zimbabwe – A sudden blackout during Finance Minister Mthuli Ncube’s budget speech left Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s security scrambling.
The dramatic incident sparked reactions from South African politicians, with Mmusi Maimane urging opposition leader Nelson Chamisa to act decisively, tweeting: “You need to win in 2028… these guys are worse than Mugabe.”
Other South African figures also weighed in, questioning the state of governance in Zimbabwe and calling for regional leaders to address the growing instability.
