Alleged Fake Police Attempt to Scam Woman After Claiming to Have a Warrant for Her Arrest
A video shared by Ma Makume has raised concerns about a suspected scam involving individuals posing as police officers.
According to Ma Makume, three women and a man arrived at her home claiming to have a warrant for her mother’s arrest. However, they failed to provide her full name or any credible details.
When asked which police station they were taking her to, they mentioned Protea, but upon following up, the family discovered no record of the arrest at Protea or Moroka police stations.
The mother was later found with the alleged “police officers” at an FNB branch in Jabulane, where they demanded R60,000 to drop her supposed case.
They attempted to access her banking app on her phone. Fortunately, the family managed to capture videos of the individuals involved.
