Shisanyama Weds Groovist Couple That Met 2 Months Ago (VIDEO)

A Mpumalanga couple that met two months ago have tied the knot at a Kasi Shisanyama in Emalahleni.

“That first sight, that first moment—that’s where forever began.” This quote perfectly captures the love story of Themba Malaza (33) and Chardoney Lessing (21), a couple from Emalahleni, Mpumalanga, who tied the knot on 3 November at the popular Value Meat Real Braai Shisanyama.

According to reports, the couple met just two months ago at the same shisanyama and have been inseparable since.

Their unique “groove wedding” was made possible when Themba, who does odd jobs, proposed to Chardoney on his birthday, 19 October.

Though he couldn’t afford a traditional wedding, the venue’s management covered all wedding costs except for lobola.

Themba shared that he’d informed his ancestors of his intentions, and both families supported the couple’s decision to marry without traditional processes.

For Chardoney, marriage has always been a dream, and she was thrilled with the wedding. She described the day as perfect, with the food and support from family, friends, and the venue owner making it memorable.

The couple encourages others to follow their hearts in love, saying, “You don’t have to wait. Love each other and get married.”

The shisanyama is known for its vibrant events, including a recent “graduation” celebration where loyal patrons received gowns, certificates, and vouchers.

Marketing manager Bathini Letlaka shared that the wedding was a hit, and the venue plans to keep creating fun events, with a spelling bee competition up next.
