The George Local Municipality confirmed the increase in the death toll on Sunday morning, stating, “This morning at 02:30 am another body was recovered, bringing the total number of deceased to 15.”
Professional psychosocial support practitioners proficient in Chewa, Portuguese, and Shona languages have been called upon to assist survivors and families, considering that some workers involved are nationals from Zimbabwe, Mozambique, and Malawi.
