‘Wangkolota’ Host Kagiso Modupe To Be Sued – REPORT

Kagiso Modupe's Production Company Under Fire for Allegedly Failing to Pay 'Pound 4 Pound' Actors

Kagiso Modupe’s production company, Bakwena Productions, is facing backlash as actors from the series Pound 4 Pound report they haven’t been paid in two months.

Entertainment insider Phil Mphela shared that the cast and crew are now considering legal action against Bakwena Productions for missed payments, with a promised deadline of October 30 passing without resolution.

BET, through Paramount Africa, confirmed they are current with payments to Bakwena Productions, placing responsibility on Modupe’s company to pay the actors.

In response to the situation, Pound 4 Pound actors have voiced their frustration, especially after Modupe’s recent South African Film and Television Awards (Safta) acceptance speech, which many found insensitive given the ongoing payment issues.

Actors also criticized Modupe for reportedly delaying payments in his other productions, including Losing Lerato and Ingoma.

Legal pressures are mounting as Isidingo actor Brandon Auret’s legal team has reportedly sent a demand letter to Bakwena Productions, urging them to halt the series’ airing until the payment issues are resolved.
