Amanda Manku, the talented Skeem Saam actress, has shared how she is dealing with the devastating loss of her mother and grandmother.

Earlier this year, Amanda addressed rumors surrounding their tragic deaths in 2021 through a statement on social media.

In her statement, Amanda revealed that on January 10, 2024, three suspects appeared in the Lebowakgomo Magistrate’s Court in connection with the murders of her mother, aged 45, and grandmother, aged 70. The two women were tragically shot on May 4, 2021, in Makgophong village, Limpopo.

Reports indicated that the suspects in the case include David Khoza, 40, William Manku, 53, and Nonhlanhla Ngubo, 42.

Amanda recently appeared on Mommy Diaries with Pasi Koetle, where she spoke about how prayer and her bond with her child have helped her navigate life after the loss. She also opened up about the deep impact the deaths have had on her.

Reflecting on her grief, Amanda shared, “I didn’t deal with it; I felt like a part of me died. My mom had me at 15, so she was more like my best friend, and my grandmother became my mother.”

The actress confessed that 2024 has been the hardest year for her, as the reality of their absence truly hit her. “They were the center of my life. Losing a mother is a pain you never get over. My father, who was my pillar, is now arrested for their murder.”

Amanda’s story reveals the strength needed to endure such profound loss, as she continues to navigate life without the two women who shaped her.
