Alleged Crime Boss Mark Lifman Shot Dead in Garden Route Mall Parking

Mark Lifman, 57, a prominent figure in South Africa’s underworld, was shot and killed today in the parking area of the Garden Route Mall.

The incident occurred around 11:30 a.m., and the suspects fled in a white VW Polo (CY registration). No arrests have been made.

Lifman, facing numerous charges including murder, attempted murder, money laundering, and gang-related offences, was closely associated with other high-profile figures like alleged Sexy Boys leader Jerome ‘Donkie’ Booysen and Nafiz Modack.

He and Booysen were also linked to the 2017 murder of Wainstein in Constantia, believed to be part of an underworld feud over nightclub control.

Mark Lifman, Jerome Booysen, and Andre Naude appear in the Western Cape High Court.

Lifman was scheduled to appear in the Western Cape High Court on Monday.

His death brings attention back to the ongoing violence and organized crime activity in Cape Town.
