Mlungisi Mathe Returns to Umkhokha: The Curse as Sibusiso
Popular actor Mlungisi Mathe is set to return to Umkhokha: The Curse on Mzansi Magic, reprising his role as Sibusiso Maphalala.
Entertainment commentator Jabu McDonald confirmed Mathe’s comeback in the hit faith-based telenovela.
Mathe took a break in 2023 when the storyline saw Nkanyiso Mchunu’s character, Mlungisi, take his own life.

In the show’s plot, Mamzobe (portrayed by Deli Malinga) blamed Sibusiso for her son Mlungisi’s tragic death, which aired on September 22.
The character Mlungisi, who led the Mvelase church, died after a night out with his brothers and best friend Sibusiso, leaving Mamzobe convinced that Sibusiso had influenced him against his half-brother Siphamandla.
Mlungisi Mathe is also known for his memorable role as Emkay in SABC1’s Skeem Saam, where he played the friend of Fanie Maseremule, who was killed by Lehasa in 2021.
