Mafikizolo Star Nhlanhla Mafu Pursues Solo Career

The legendary Afro-pop duo Mafikizolo, formed by Theo Kgosinkwe and Nhlanhla Mafu, has thrived for nearly three decades.

Though they lost their third member Tebza (Tebogo Madingoane) in 2004, Theo and Nhlanhla have carried on the group’s legacy without signs of parting ways.

However, Nhlanhla has recently leaned into her solo career, raising questions about Mafikizolo’s future.

Nhlanhla has been booking solo performances and recently released a new single, Ngithanda Wena, featuring DJ Tira and Amatycooler.

Her focus on solo projects has led to speculation that the duo could be preparing to split. According to a close friend, Nhlanhla and Theo had a falling out earlier this year, adding to the rumors.

Aside from her music, Nhlanhla has relaunched her NN Vintage clothing line, which now includes a Shweshwe bridal range.

She explained that she and Theo each have separate managers for their individual careers while maintaining a manager for Mafikizolo.

Both intend to keep working on projects within and outside of the duo, although Nhlanhla is currently dedicated to her solo work and promoting her single, celebrating her new bridal collection.
