24 Pupils Hospitalized After Suspected Food Poisoning in Mpumalanga

Twenty-four pupils from Enzani Primary School in Matsulu, Mpumalanga, were rushed to the hospital after experiencing abdominal pains and vomiting.

The pupils reportedly consumed snacks purchased from a local spaza shop.

Provincial Education Department spokesperson, Gerald Sambo, expressed concern over the incident and other cases of food poisoning in schools.

The Education Department is currently awaiting a report from the Health Department to confirm the cause of the illness.

This situation has raised alarms about food safety in school environments and the need for stricter regulation of food sold near schools.
