Clearwater Mall Jewelry Heist: Seven Arrested and Firearms Seized in Daring Robber (VIDEOS)

A jewelry store robbery at Clearwater Mall in Roodepoort, Johannesburg, ended with seven suspects arrested and four firearms recovered.

The robbery took place on October 22, 2024, when around eight armed men stormed the store, holding employees at gunpoint and stealing valuable jewelry.

Thanks to a quick response from police and private security, the suspects were intercepted as they tried to flee, leading to a shootout that injured two police officers and three suspects.

Four suspects were apprehended near the mall, while three more were caught in Dobsonville.

Lieutenant General Tommy Mthombeni praised the teamwork of law enforcement and private security in preventing further harm.

The suspects face serious charges, including business robbery and attempted murder. This incident highlights the importance of collaboration in keeping shopping areas safe, especially as the festive season approaches.
