One Weeks follows Fana, a high school dropout from kasi, who dates a successful lawyer, Lihle, and builds a bond with her 10-year-old daughter, Angie.

Smindlo, portrayed by Siphiwe, is a freeloader with big dreams of becoming a famous musician, though he often thinks he’s smarter than everyone around him.

“Smindlo is such a chancer, man. He thinks he’s got it all figured out, but really, he’s just trying to ride Fana’s coattails,” Siphiwe shared.

Siphiwe, also a father in real life, spoke about the unique experience of working with child actress Mangaliso Mthembu, who plays Angie.

“I’ve got boys at home, so working with a girl child was new for me. Mangaliso is brilliant—her smart clapbacks really challenged my character, and I loved the dynamic between Smindlo and Angie,” Siphiwe added.

The role also gave Siphiwe a chance to reconnect with his music roots. He contributed to a song featured in the show, working alongside the series creator, Chris Q Radebe.

“Chris had an idea for the track, and when we hit the studio, I added my own creative flair. It was such a fun process, and I’m excited for people to hear it,” Siphiwe said.

Fans are thrilled to see Siphiwe back on screen, and his role in One Weeks is already creating buzz.
