Prince Mbasa Sigcau, speaking for the royal family, voiced concerns about the accuracy of the content, stating that the royal house only learned about the show through the media.

The family is skeptical about how the AmaMpondo heritage will be portrayed without their input.

Another major concern is the language. Prince Sigcau expressed worry that the cast, many of whom do not speak isiMpondo, may not properly represent the language and culture, which could dilute the show’s historical value.
