‘Umkhokha The Curse’ Reportedly Fired 3 Actors For Being ‘divas’

Tension is rising on the set of the popular TV series Umkhokha: The Curse, as rumors swirl about major changes in the cast.

With production for Season 2 nearing its end and no confirmation of contract renewals for the crew and actors, the future of the show hangs in the balance.

But the drama behind the scenes is stealing the spotlight.

Top Actors Fired from Umkhokha

According to insider reports, three lead actors have been fired from Umkhokha. These include Msizi Njapha, who plays Khulekani, Angel Zuma, who portrays Nomkhosi, and Kwanele Mthethwa, who stars as Nobuntu.

While it was initially reported that Zuma was leaving to pursue an opportunity with The Lion King, sources revealed that she had been fired weeks before starting her new role in Toronto, Canada.

The actors were allegedly let go due to bad behavior on set. Msizi, in particular, was reportedly arriving late and sometimes intoxicated, causing delays in production.

“These were tough decisions for the producers, but the actors’ diva-like tendencies and unprofessionalism made it necessary,” a source revealed.

Msizi had reportedly faced similar issues during his time with The Lion King, which also led to his dismissal.

Uncertainty Over Season 3

As Season 2 wraps up, there’s still no word from Mzansi Magic regarding the renewal of Umkhokha for a third season.

Insiders say Multichoice has not formally communicated with the producers about the show’s future.

Multichoice publicist Portia Hlongwane stated that she was unaware of the firings, adding, “Msizi’s storyline is still part of the show.”

Fans are left wondering whether Umkhokha will return for another season or if the drama behind the scenes will bring the series to a halt.
