A family mourning the loss of a loved one has been struck by another devastating tragedy. On the same day as a funeral, a Pietermaritzburg woman was killed in a horrifying incident while traveling back home after attending the emotional service.
Roy Sukdhev shared the heartbreaking news on social media, explaining that his niece, who had traveled from Pietermaritzburg to attend her uncle’s funeral, was killed when a brick was thrown from a bridge.
The brick shattered the car’s windscreen, striking her in the face and killing her instantly.
The family, already grieving the loss of Sukdhev’s brother, is now left in a state of shock and devastation following this senseless act of violence.
Authorities have yet to release further details on the incident, and investigations are expected to be underway.
