Soweto-born actor Ishmael “Skhokho” Mpeoa recently had the opportunity of a lifetime when he spent the weekend with American rapper Busta Rhymes.
The hip-hop legend was in South Africa to perform at the DStv Delicious Festival on 21 September.
Skhokho, proud of his Orlando East roots, accompanied Busta through his stay, from his high-energy performance to experiencing the rich culture of Soweto.
Together, they visited local spots, including Kabza’s Club and Makubenjalo, where Busta immersed himself in township life and connected with the local music scene.

Reflecting on their time together, Skhokho praised Busta’s love for 3-step house music from Heavy K, revealing that a musical collaboration is already in the works for Busta’s upcoming album.
“Busta is a real pantsula at heart,” Skhokho said. “He’s down-to-earth and loves being around good energy and good people. He’s also passionate about motivating others and shared valuable advice: to respect one another, stay positive, and always put God first.”
