Fire at Broadwalk Urban Village in Midrand Displaces Residents, Injures Several

A fire broke out at the Broadwalk Urban Village complex in Midrand, affecting around 130 apartments.
City of Johannesburg Emergency Management Services (EMS) firefighters responded to the blaze, which started on the second floor, and managed to extinguish it.
A residential complex has burnt down in Midrand, leaving several people injured. The fire broke out last night at the Broadwalk Urban Village which houses 130 units. Several residents sustained injuries while attempting to escape and were transported to healthcare facilities. Fortunately, no fatalities were reported, and the cause of the fire remains unknown.
Complex owners are offering displaced residents alternative accommodations.

Additionally, a separate fire at Cemetery View in Tshwane claimed one life and left another critically injured, affecting over 2,600 residents.
