Veteran Actor Timmy Kwebulana Passes Away at 83 After Short Illness

Beloved South African actor Timmy Kwebulana has sadly passed away at the age of 83 after a brief illness. The news of his death broke on Thursday, 19 September, leaving fans and colleagues in shock.

Timmy, born in Cape Town, was widely known for his iconic roles in TV shows like Fishy Feshuns and Mazinyo Dot Q.

He also portrayed Bra Vic Tau, founder of Shooting Stars FC, in the popular e.tv drama Shooting Stars from 2007 to 2010. In 2012, he guest-starred on the Mzansi Magic sitcom Chandies.

Aside from his acting career, Timmy travelled the world as a performer with jazz pianist Abdullah Ibrahim in 1977, and he toured with the band Meropa.

His family confirmed his death through a statement on Friday, 20 September, expressing their gratitude for his contributions to the arts and entertainment industry over the past six decades.

The family also requested privacy during this time as they organize memorial and funeral arrangements, which will be announced by family representative Hlubi Kwebulana soon.
