WATCH | DJ Maphorisa Fires Back At Samthing Soweto Again Amid Song Credit Controversy
DJ Maphorisa and Samthing Soweto's Feud Heats Up Over Album Masters

The ongoing drama between DJ Maphorisa and Samthing Soweto continues to intensify, sparking heated debates in the music industry.
Fans and fellow artists have been drawn into the controversy, which highlights the need for clear communication, proper contracts, and fair compensation in the industry.
After Samthing Soweto denied Maphorisa’s claims of giving him the masters to the Isiphithiphithi album, stating he paid Maphorisa a fee, Maphorisa fired back on social media.
He accused Samthing Soweto of trying to “own all the masters” and revealed that he had requested an invoice from Samthing two to three years ago to settle the payments.
Maphorisa expressed frustration, saying, “Why do you want to win everything? Why do you want to own all the masters? Does it make sense? Do we work for you?” He insisted that Samthing should send an invoice so they could settle payments for songs like Amantombazane and Emcimbini, adding, “We can give your money back, and we will own the masters.”
Maphorisa concluded by accusing Samthing of trying to sabotage the release of the song and acting like a victim. “I’m tired of this back and forth,” he said, calling for an end to the dispute.

I think both. It seems like they had verbal agreement, but somehow things changed when the song became huge before release.
