Day two of the Para Powerlifting competition at the La Chapelle Arena promises thrilling action as four new Paralympic champions will be crowned.

In the women’s up to 50kg category, Great Britain’s world champion Olivia Broome is a favorite to claim gold, but China’s Jinping Xiao, who set an Asian record at Tbilisi, is a strong contender.

In the men’s up to 59kg event, China’s Qi Yongkai is the man to beat, as he defends his Paralympic and world champion titles.

Other challengers include Tokyo 2020 medallist Herbert Aceituno and Iran’s Mohsen Bakhtiar.

The evening showdown in the women’s up to 55kg will feature reigning Paralympic champion Mariana Shevchuk from Ukraine battling Egypt’s world record holder Rehab Ahmed.

The men’s up to 65kg final will wrap up the day, with China’s Zou Yi looking to defend his title against Iran’s Amir Jafari Arangeh.

With intense rivalries and world-class athletes, day two is set to deliver unforgettable performances in Paris.
