Former Finance Manager Sentenced to 10 Years for R3.5 Million Fraud

Prishne Khan, a former finance manager, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison by the Pretoria Specialized Commercial Crimes Court for 63 counts of fraud involving over R3 million.

Khan, who also faced charges of theft amounting to R350,000, manipulated company banking details to divert funds into accounts controlled by her husband and cousin.

The court found that Khan’s actions were driven by greed, not necessity, and she showed no genuine remorse.

The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) welcomed the ruling, emphasizing its commitment to prosecuting financial crimes in South Africa. Khan’s sentence serves as a stern reminder of the consequences of betraying the trust of employers for personal gain.
