Popular reality TV star and sangoma, Gogo Skhotheni, also known as Tumi Motsoeneng, shared the devastating news of her son’s passing on Instagram. On Tuesday, September 3rd, Gogo Skhotheni announced that her three-year-old son, Monde Junior Shange, tragically passed away on Monday, September 2nd.
In her heartfelt statement, she expressed the deep sorrow felt by both the Motsoeneng and Shange families:
“It is with profound sadness that the Motsoeneng and Shange families confirm the passing of Monde Jr Shange. Monde Jr departed this life at 15:00 on Monday, September 2nd, 2024, at Busamed Modderfontein Private Hospital.”
The families have requested privacy during this difficult time:
“The families kindly request privacy as they navigate this deep and painful loss. We ask for your understanding and compassion in giving them the space they need during this difficult time of grieving.”
She also shared a comforting verse from Psalm 23:4:
“Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.”

What Happened to Gogo Skhotheni’s Son?
Zimoja reports that Gogo Skhotheni had previously spoken about her son’s health challenges. She revealed that her pregnancy was complicated, leading to her son being born prematurely after just seven months.
Monde Junior faced significant health issues from birth, including a rare condition where he was born without the tube that transports food to the stomach. He underwent numerous surgeries and required a machine to help him eat.
Despite these challenges, Gogo Skhotheni’s faith remained unshaken. She shared her feelings on social media:
“God is testing the wrong woman. God made a joke game, AmaDlozi kept quiet, they saw me in pain daily, but they all did nothing. My faith is not shaken even by a snake, they know I would cross the ocean for them,” said the sangoma.
