Award-Winning Mental Health Company Lyra Southern Africa Faces Sexual Harassment Scandal
Employee Kevin Cupido Found Guilty

Lyra Southern Africa, a company known for its employee wellness services, faces criticism for its handling of sexual harassment complaints.
A former employee at the Sandton office accused Kevin Cupido of sexual assault in 2021. Though found guilty by the court, Cupido reportedly remains employed, with sentencing pending. The company offered counseling to the victim but hasn’t taken disciplinary action, raising concerns about its commitment to a safe work environment.
This isn’t an isolated incident. In 2019, another employee reported a spiked drink and alleged rape at a company event. The case wasn’t pursued further, and she claims she was fired for accusing colleagues.
Lyra Southern Africa’s recent recognition as a Top Women Business in Healthcare clashes with these allegations. The company urgently needs to address these issues transparently and ensure employee safety.
