Skeem Saam Star: I have two husbands
Skeem Saam Star Elizabeth Serunye Says She Doesn’t Need a Man in Her Life

Elizabeth Serunye, the beloved Skeem Saam actress, believes she doesn’t need a man in her life, thanks to her two sons.
At 53, the actress, known for her role as Principal Thobakgale, told Daily Sun that being a single mother has made her “man up” and embrace her role as both mom and dad to her boys.
Growing up with boys, Elizabeth shared that it made her tough and gave her the strength to raise her sons on her own.
“I had to pull on those fists and become a tomboy,” she said, adding that she made a choice to focus on her children and not have a partner while raising them.

Her strict character on Skeem Saam has also influenced her real life. “The role has had a huge impact on my life, and it aligned with me raising my boys alone,” she explained.
When asked if she ever wanted a partner, Elizabeth joked, “We can play, but I already have my two husbands, Bobby and Spotty,” referring to her sons. She credits her role as Principal Thobakgale for teaching her many lessons and says she will remain the principal “even in death.”
Elizabeth encouraged young people to take education seriously, emphasizing the importance of matric as the key to success.
As for her career, she has no plans to retire from acting, saying, “Acting is my life. I can’t imagine doing anything else.”
She added that she has tried other jobs but couldn’t see herself doing anything other than acting, which she is deeply passionate about.
