Setlhabi Taunyane, famously known as ‘Bra Kop’ from Rhythm City, recently shared personal details about his marriage and family struggles during an interview on the King David’s Podcast.
The actor, also known for his role in Muvhango, revealed that his Zimbabwean wife has never been fully accepted by his family, which has created challenges throughout their 17-year marriage.
Taunyane opened up about feeling excluded from family events, including a cousin’s wedding he wasn’t informed about.
He expressed how this lack of acceptance has impacted their lives, saying, “Once you are abandoned by family, the issue goes beyond just relatives.”
Despite the difficulties, Taunyane remains committed to navigating these challenges, acknowledging that his wife’s Zimbabwean heritage has played a significant role in their struggles.
He shared, “We have suffered because she’s from Zimbabwe,” and emphasized that his wife’s identity as an outsider continues to affect their relationship.
