Two unlicensed firearms were recovered during the arrests. One of these firearms is suspected to be the murder weapon used in the killing of Ditebogo Phalane, pending confirmation through forensic testing.

Both suspects are scheduled to make their first appearance at the Pretoria Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 22 May 2024.

Notably, one of the suspects was reportedly out on bail for previous charges, including hijacking, attempted murder, and possession of an unlicensed firearm.
