In a devastating turn of events, a five-year-old child lost his life during a hijacking outside his family’s home in Soshanguve, north of Pretoria.
According to police spokesperson Lt-Col Mavela Masondo, the child was welcoming his father home when armed suspects hijacked their white Toyota bakkie around 10:30 pm.
The child sustained fatal wounds and later passed away in the hospital.

Gauteng police have initiated an investigation into the incident, opening cases of murder and hijacking. They appeal to the public for any information that may assist in apprehending the suspects. Citizens can contact the nearest police station or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
