In Johannesburg, the rise of blue light gangs, who impersonate law enforcement officers, has led to a surge in car hijackings, robberies, and even kidnappings.
These criminals target motorists, posing as police or metro police officers.
While some progress has been made by authorities in apprehending suspects and recovering cloned police vehicles and uniforms, incidents continue to occur.
