Armed Robbery Suspect Run Over in Phoenix

Robbery Foiled by Brave Store Owner

In Phoenix, KZN, an armed robbery suspect met an unexpected end when he was run over while attempting to flee the scene. The incident occurred Monday afternoon, with Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) responding to a call for assistance at approximately 16:41.

According to reports, four individuals had robbed a fruit and vegetable business, taking cash and cellphones.

In an attempt to escape, the robbers fled to a waiting silver Toyota Avanza. However, the owner of the store intervened by ramming the getaway vehicle with his Toyota Fortuner.

During the confrontation, one of the suspects fell from the vehicle and was tragically run over by the Fortuner. Meanwhile, the remaining suspects managed to flee in an unknown direction.

Upon arrival, Reaction Officers found the victim had managed to apprehend the 30-year-old suspect. They recovered a substantial amount of stolen cash and a cellphone from his possession. Additionally, a .357 Magnum revolver with six rounds of ammunition, bearing a filed-off serial number, was discovered in a nearby bush.

Both the suspect and the recovered items were handed over to the Phoenix SAPS for further investigation.
